Madonna, Brangelina, etc. It used to be a small 'yap' dog... now it's kids from Africa. Your thoughts?

Ronnie... I have no problem with what Oprah did. There's just a SLIGHT difference in providing a building where a child can get educated versus taking them away from their family and country.

yes, they are becoming the latest fashion accessories. Its should be illegal. Mind you the kid does get a better life. but still the "celebri-tards" shouldnt mess with peoples lives.

Much of what is written in the top answer may well be accurate but if you think Europeans treated black slaves worse than white slaves, i.e if you don't think 'mutilation, rape, assault, famine' were subjected upon other Europeans by Europeans than you're very mistaken. Just take a look in recent history at how the Germans were treated after their defeat in WW2. Boys were tortured and some executed by being run over with tanks whilst girls of all ages were raped in mass by Russians and Yugoslavians. Whenever a group, whatever their race, loses a war to another group expect the worst sides of human nature to come out.

My thoughts are that you are presumptuous and sound rather racist. I'm fairly certain you don't know either Madonna nor Angelina Jolie nor Brad Pitt personally, so you really don't know what motivated them to adopt the particular children they chose to adopt.
To imply that the children Madonna and Angelina and Brad have adopted are a "fashion accessory" is a slap in the face to them AND to their children who are adopted. I don't believe the humanitarian efforts Angelina and Brad are doing is anything else than coming from a charitable place in both their hearts. The same goes for Madonna.
Until you've made a positive difference in the life of a child who otherwise might have lived a life of poverty and few opportunities, I wouldn't criticize someone else - especially someone you don't even know.

I actually think its a REALLY good thing what they're doing....and if they are gunna get crap about it then they cant do anything nice.....and they cant do anything at all!
Lets not obsess what celebrities are doing in the first place that would be a start dont you think.....
i mean if you CARE so much about the "next big fashion accessory" then get a child from africa....
but i happen to think its a WONDERFUL thing they are doing for them....
and i have noticed that you couldnt find any other person who has adopted an african child hence the ect. (two ppl...thats NOT going to start a "trend")

I'm just glad the good Lord is finally feeding the Pygmies down in New Guinea and over there too. Oprah got her a whole school full of kids... why you want to knock someone with the means helping those in need anyways?

I'm sure it seems that it's "trendy", but it's not, been happening for a long time. The trend I do see happening is "rich, white, celebri-tards" trying to do something good with their money and fame. I really don't think these people give a rat's *** what any of us think of them personally. Someone's going to their concerts, movies etc.....people are appreciating whatever their art is despite. What people aren't appreciating is that they're taking underprivileged children into their homes and bettering their lives. Those bastards! Who do they think they are? Sheesh....

they just want to be "the good people who help out the poor" which is kinda good- if you want kids. kids aren't fashion statements, they are a little person that you have to take care of. for pete's sakes Hollywood get a life (that isn't all a lie)! Hollywood is an example for us all- not the best- yet we still do what ever they do and say and wear- which is sad, very, very, sad

Sure, it makes them feel better about thier excessive lifestyle. It also makes their image look good...at least they think it does. Funny it's not a new concept in Hollywood. To get a sneak preview of some of the less than good results, watch "Mommy Dearest"

Why do people always think celebs do things for themselves??
What about the children?? They're going to have the most amazing life now... they're going to have things we can only dream of and see things we'll never get to see.
Good luck to them... one less child dies - how can that be a bad thing?
