mine did that back in june and i went on birth control pills to regulate it again; i was told it was a hormonal shift... but the problem is the 2 different birth control pills made it ten times worse so in november i went off all of them and have been regular since. stress can change your menstrual cycles too. but all in all if it happens again... i would definately see the dr.

I have had three periods in a month a couple times. The only thing it means is that your cycle is not regular. It is nothing to worry about although it can mean getting pregnant will be more difficult for you.
It is generally a sign that your hormone levels are not even. This can get better with time and many doctors will put you on the pill to regulate you or even try to give you anti depressants which help to even out varying hormone levels.
Check with your doctor he might want to run some tests just to make sure it isn't something serious.

I'd see a doctor.. but if you are young its probably nothing too serious.. periods can be weird the first 2 or three years. I had a friend who used to skip 3 months out of the year for 2 years in a row, then eventually it became normal... but i'd still see a doctor if you are over say 16 and this is happening.

It sounds as though you are having what is called "breakthrough" bleeding. It is probably nothing serious, but should be checked by a doctor. A light "period" in the middle of the month can be implantation bleeding from pregnancy as well. You need to see a doctor to rule out anything serious, and if it's not serious, he or she may want to put you on a birth control pill to help you regulate your cycle.
Best of luck!

Normally, you are only supposed to have a period every 28-32 days but if you've just started having periods you might have irregular cycles for a while. If this has been happening for a long time, it can signify scarring of the uterus or a similar disorder. You should really seek help from your gynecologist.

This has happened to me since i've got my period. Mine would come every other week sometimes. And then other times it would come once every couple of months. It took me a while to talk to my doctor about it but she put me on birth control to regulate me and it's fine now. So talk to your doctor.

If you have been sexually active it could be implantation bleeding. Or it can be break through bleeding where the lining starts to shed before you are due for your next period. You should call your dr for an appointment if you are very concerned.

sounds like your hormones are a little out of whack. go to the doctor. they will probably put you on birthcontrol pills, which have hormones and will help get you regulated. I got really out of whack and had mine everyday for months, i kept putting off going because i didn't have insurance,,,and probably I was scared it was something much more serious than it was...what a waste of time and worry. go call your doc.
