I live in Augusta, GA where my family got Comcast cable in different rooms. We got 3 digital boxes in different rooms, and 2 rooms that has analog cable (66 channels) I have analog cable in my room. Everytime I look on TV I get messages that channels from the analog cable lineup are moving to the digital box lineup. That's makes me angry! Comcast are trying to get people to buy those expensive boxes and I don't want to do that. What should I do. Is it true that not only Comcast is trying to get rid of analog TV and have people buy cable boxes but what about other cable companies?

It's called THE LAW.

There's been a law passed that all US TV has to be digital by Feb. 17, 2009. The original legislation goes back to 1997 (Clinton/Gore). The original deadline was last week on New Year's Eve, but was found to be an unreachable goal.

All television is going digital. You have a few options. You can give up television. You can wait and get a digital to analog converter which will allow an analog television to work. Or you can choose between SDTV or HDTV. S stands for standard or analog quality. H stands for high definition quality. It's your choice. Shop around. Good luck.

We had comcast while living in Virginia. Lousiest cable system I have EVER seen. After MONTHS of problems with service, I sent a "nasty gram" email to their customer service. 2 days later, a person who identified himself as one of the VP's called me and said he had looked at my account and was "appalled" that my problems werenot corrected, and asked "what did I want" in order to make the situation right.

I asked him what he'd want, and he said "an 8 month credit to my bill"......I said "OK....that'll work".

I got it.......but we moved 2 months later and they ended up OWING me money!! WOOHOO!!!
