Hello and Congratulations!

I made the mistake of buying a rather large and rather expensive pram/buggy when i was pregnant with my son. It's a lovely buggy by Mutsy but its so bulky...when its in my boot there is no room for anything else so going shopping is a complete nightmare. Its heavy to get out off the boot and put it up and its too big for going around the shops...and oh my god its terrible when the weather is so bad!

I'm getting the Quinny Zapp. I've looked it up on the internet and also been to the shop with my son to try it out...its fab!

Its so light, compact and comfortable for my son too...so easy to fold up and down and its one of the smallest buggys ever when folded it can even be carried on the back of a bicycle or in the passengers side footwell!!!

I would strongly reccomend buying this buggy if you are into your car so much..as i am. I have a BMW 318 compact, with the short boot and there is not alot of room inside the boot for anything apart from my sons buggy.

So i would say the Quinny Zapp would be perfect all round. And great for nipping in and out of crowds and shops when your out and about and easy enough for you to fold away on your own if theres no one out with you. Plus you wont have to stand in the cold/rain/wind for ages trying to put in away!

The cheapest one I found was on ebay. Its £113 delivered to your door for the buggy, sun canopy, rain cover, travel bag and car seat adapters. If your going to use this buggy with a newborn baby then i would buy the car seat (Maxi Cosi Cabrio £82) the attaches to the buggy. The car seat with last from Newborn to around about 9 mths old. So when your out its just a matter of unclipping the car seat from the buggy and clipping it into your car, putting the buggy in the boot and off you go.

Hope this helps you...if you need anymore info just email me! No Probs!

I drive a cooper covert. too. Before I purchased I did my baby research too. There is a GREAT website with multiple forums about having a baby and a MINI...and models of carseats and strollers that EASILY fit/work. You just need to do a search for 'baby stroller' or something close and you will get LOADS of comments....OR you can post a new question and get fast responses.

Fabulous people overseas have babies all the time and a significant part drive MINIs or SMART cars...so it's totally doable.

Anyone who suggests otherwise isn't very well read.

GOOD LUCK AND CONGRATS!

I have 2 kids and they are now 11 and 9. I also just took delivery of my Mini Cooper S with JCW kit. I can tell you right now, there is NO WAY you can keep you Mini as the only car to trasport your baby and all your baby supplies. The stroller is not the only thing you will need to carry. You will need room for pretty sizable baby bag to carry all its diapers, bottles, toys, etc. You will also need space for the baby seat and when that seat goes in to the right rear seat (for safety) the front passenger seat will be rendered useless beause the infant baby seat is rear facing. When we had our kid (just one) we had to get rid of the 4 door Honda and get a van. Sorry to be the barer of bad news, but there is a reason why I waited so long to get my Mini. Do yourself a favor, get rid of the Mini and gear everything in your life toward the baby. You will have no sleep, no life, no Mini for at least until the baby is around 5. However, being a parent will be the most rewarding thing you will do in your life. Good luck with the baby!

Congrats.........

I was being treated to one for my birthday this Saturday but when i saw the boot I knew there was no way I would get a buggy to fit in the boot.......

For a new born you can buy those (quinny) buggy things which fold quite small but they will only do the job for a limited time.........

I toyed with the idea of using the back seat for the buggy but decided against it, cause if its a muddy day your car and you are going to get filthy....

Good luck hun they are fab looking cars xxxx
