What exactly does MAIDEN mean? I mean like lets say someone said DID THE PRINCE FALL IN LOVE WITH THE MAIDEN?(from cinderella) then what would maiden mean? When she was beutifull and gorgeous or when she was bassically a slave to the household.

Sometimes maiden means a child not yet old enough for childbearing, other times it means a girl is a virgin, other times it means a women who is not yet married.

In the context of Cinderella it means young and probably had not had first.
