ok, i am 31 weeks pregnant and i am 18, also i am engaged.

i have been on medicaid since the begining, and WIC since october, but me and my fiance want to get married befor our baby is born in march. We live together, and he is on both the WIC and Medicaid paper work, so will getting married affect any of this, or should we just wait? I've tried calling but the offices are closed and thought maybe somebody on here would know thanks!

if his information is already on the paperwork your marital status should not change your benefits. I am on Medicaid also and was also on it with my first child and had the same situation, I still received my benefits the same as I did before we were married.

Yep, getting married can affect your eligibilty with both. I work at medicaid in WI. Once married they look at him as a provider for you, right now he is a "room mate" basicly and you should still be supporting yourself. If you plan to keep everything in tact without changes, waiting would be best. WIC is less likely to change though unless his and yours anunal income as a family will be less than $30,075. Medicaid is the likely one to change. If he is a dead beat and not carrying insurance on even himself, then it won't matter you will still have coverage. If he does carry insurance, they will expect you to pick up his (and may not be eligible for medicaid) and his insurance may not cover the rest of the pregnancy because it IS classed as a pre exsisting condition. The income level for medicaid is roughly the same as WIC, but they take the insurance into consideration which could be bad for you. Good Luck, I hope that helped!

You can get married while on Medicaid and it will not effect your eligibility. As for WIC, WIC is based on income, you can get WIC when you are married for yourself and the child but they will consider your husband's income and the number of people in your household. The amount they allow him to make is very low in order to still get it.

I would consider your financial situation. WIC only provides a limited amount of milk, cheese, eggs, peanut butter, juice, formula and cereal during the month...can you afford these things without the help of WIC? That's what I would consider.

When you get married it will affect both. As far as reporting his income goes. Most likely even with reporting his income as well as yours will not effect your WIC. However because you will have to report his income, its important that you report to your case worker for medicaid that you are married. Most likely that won't affect your medicaid until its time to renew. It is possible that you are already reporting his income? In that case it will not affect anything. If you are not reporting his income that is the only thing it will affect.

Did they count his income for the wic and medicaid if so then it wont make any difference if married or not. If they did not count his income then they will as soon as you are married -ask each provider if you will still recieve it but unless his income is real high you probably will.

It depends on the income. WIC will have to add in his income and so will medicaid. But, it shouldn't be too much. Just call the office and tell them what he makes and see. Good luck

This actually depends on what State you live in. Some states will take into account your household income when you file, His income would then already be factored in to that. Other states will count only your income, which means his income will be factored into the equation once you are married.

Since he's already on the medicaid and wic information, getting married won't affect your benefits for either. Congratulations, and good luck!

the only way that you guys getting married will effect it, is if he makes more then they will allow you to.. other then that you guys soon be fine. i dont know where you live at but in Los Angeles the lemit is $2,250.00 a month. but thats with both your income together.

i dont know much about the medical thing, i use my husbands, BUT some insurance companys will not let you on his insurance if you are already pregnant... luckly with UPS they let you, i was added to my husbands insurance AFTER i found out i was pregnant they are paying for everything but the 15 dollar co pays. so dont get discouraged they still might cover you.

As long as he is already on the paper work and there isn't an increase in money you will be fine. you can be married and still on it its just needs his income as well as your, so if he has a job and they don't know about it then that will change things. even if your not married and live together they would need his income to establish if you qualify.
