Do you think integration ruined the black community?
For those that dont know, by definition integration means to combine, blend, fuse..however blacks did all this, and whites didnt. There never was any integration on their part. What's your answer?

Wow, now that's one tough question.

No doubt things are worse in predominantly black communities than ever before.

When there was segregation, black communities had a healthy mix of successful, intelligent and educated african americans who contributed to the stability and prosperity of the community.

Now, successful people of all colors of skin are more likely to flee to the suburbs.

So, the inner cities are without the very role models that young inner-city kids need... african american doctors and lawyers don't live in the inner city.

Thus, we're left with the people least able to fend for themselves, and they are especially susceptible to social ills such as drug use, crime, etc., due to a general lack of opportunity.

I do not think segregation is a valid solution. However, what we're currently doing with the inner cities isn't working, either.

Tough question. Very thought provoking.

YOur question is a bit obscure but it sounds like you are saying that whites were never accepting of integration and have systemactically rejected the idea on a personal level -- creating black neighborhoods by moving out when black families move in.

i don't understand your question. when you say whites didn't integrate, what do you mean?

if two things were separate and are now mixed, i'd say they are integrated. how do you see this as ruining the black community?
