I've got some things that I've looked and typed up on my laptop computer that I need for school, but I am unable to print. This is the only computer that I use when I'm home, I also have a desktop computer (which my printer is connected to), but it doesn't work. Is there any way I can print things I have on my laptop using the printer I have? I know the printer that I have is connected to my other computer and isn't set up really to work with my laptop.

I've tried connecting the printer to my laptop using the USB cable, and once its connected, it says on my laptop that its found new hardware but it may not work correctly. Several times it showed up with this message. I've been able to add the printer to my list of printers on my laptop. But whenever I try to print something, it doesn't work, or the paper will go inside the printer and come right back out, without printing anything at all. Is there a way to fix this or any other way that I can print using my laptop and printer?

My desktop computer which is the only computer my printer is connected to doesn't work.

I forgot to mention this before - the printer I have is a Lexmark P3150.

Do you have a wireless network setup? If not try downloading the drivers for that printer and installing them onto your laptop BEFORE connecting it with the USB.

The easiest thing to do is to go and buy a new printer for $40. You can get a ok printer for that much, nothing special, not good for pictures, but good for word documents. HP Inkjet is what I purchased on sale for $33.

Save your document, email it to yourself, download it from your desktop and print it there. Or get a printer that is plugged into the wireless router and you won't ever need cables again...that's what we have.

you need the drivers to run the printer, either look for a CD that came with the printer or look on the manufaturers website (search: 'download drivers (the model of your printer)'
