My wife and I have won a considerable large amount of money on the lottery. Now we have agreed that we will by a large animal. She wants a Pig. She said it will stop our outside bin from over flowing. But I prefer to get a horse as petrol cost a bomb these days.

We can't get both as we only have the one shed. Horse? Or Pig?

Please help! A Horse? Or a pig?

You are joking of course? Take a trip, buy a big house, buy a new car, boat, clothes, jewelery etc etc. bugger the animals. What are you worried about the cost of petrol for? You just won $$$$$. Didn't you? You said so, but I wonder if that is really true?

Horse feed costs a bomb these days too. But you are throwing out the trash and such anyway, get the pig.

Plus pigs have the unfortunate problem (at least for them, not so much for us) of being the most delicious of all animals. So if in the end you felt you made the wrong decision, you still got a nice dinner.

I'd look at the ongoing costs of owning an animal. Horses need hay and other things. They're also harder to transport. And are you really going to use the horse for transportation? But make sure the pig can actually eat your leftovers. You might find it's more complicated.

A pig of course! After all, the size of horse is bigger than a pig. And if you don't like it one day, you can eat it any time! roast Pork or get people to look at it like "Charolett Web". it will be "Some Pig"

Horse on the contrary likes to run away.. Get a pig, pig can just sit there and does nothing

My first question to you is do you know how to care for either of these animals? If so, which one do you know more about? Which one is going to be more time consuming to own? Is that a problem or do you have sufficiant time to care for the animal. Have you done research on both to see which one will fit into your lives better?

If yes to all, then you will either need to compromise on this and get another animal or figure out a way to have both.

Get the horse for riding and a dog (not needing a shed) for leftovers. The horse can also eat, banana peels, for example, which the dog can't eat.

I vote for the pig - they are smarter than horses (comparable to dogs, actually) and they are lower maintenance. They can be trained to do their business in one area, making clean-up chores easier. Plus, in order for a horse to be "usable," you'd need to shoe it and invest in a bridle and saddle or cart, etc. If you should suffer a reversal in fortune, the only thing you need to do to make your pig "usable" is send it off to the butcher. You would have roasts, chops and sausages and such in your freezer for a good long while.

Buy an engine that runs off of bio products. Then you can eliminate the excess waste by burning it in your truck. And save money on petrol! Plus you will not need to pay for veterinary bills or feed.

I say horse, because you can do alot of things with a horse. But a pig to me, is not really that fun. B ut its your decision, not mine, but i do still think that a horse is better.

Save up to add on to, or build another, shed and buy a horse if you know how to ride. If you don't, I'd suggest a cow, actually.
