ok what does caucus mean

I guess its splitting a larger group into its smaller caucus to discuss an issue or idea come up with ideas or questions. There is usually a plenary to bring everyone back and reach a collective agreement.

Otherwise its something to do with those small spikey desert loving plants..... ???
