hi .i feel my cpu is slow with h/t becouse even though it is a 3.06ghz cpu it only runs at 1.6ghz in system info.would i be better of with no h/t or a 2.8ghz p4 no h/t becouse i dont tink you can get 3.06ghz socket 478 without h/t

Hyperthreading should still show the 3.06 P4 speed. I would suspect that you have a CPU which can throttle back when it is not being used. This would be most common if you are talking about a laptop.

Your motherboard is probably to blame. Some motherboards offer speed limitation features (I have no idea why) that can get fouled up and choke your processor.

Another possible problem is that the motherboard can't handle a proc. that fast and limits it to what it can run.

It's hard to say what it could be. Your best bet might be to take it to a local repair shop or a place like best buy.

It runs as TWO processors. It's a good processor, keep it for now. Hyperthreading means that it simulates the presence of two processors, and trust me, it runs better than one without HT would.

you might need more RAM, or there might be too much junk software that is running in the background.
