2(15p-20)= -40p+15(p-6)
30p-40=-40p+15p-90
30p+40p-15p=-90+40
55p=-50
p=-50/55
p=-10/11

x + 7 = -2x - 8
x+2x=-8-7
3x=-15
x=-5

(30p - 40)/5 = -8p + 3p - 18
6p - 8 = -5p - 18
6p + 5p = -18 + 8
11p = -10
p = -10/11



x + 7 = -2x - 8
x + 2x = -8 - 7
x (1 + 2) = -15
x (3) = -15
x = -15/3
x = -5

X+7=-2x-8
3x=-15 then you divide both sides by three to take out the variable(x). -15/3=-5
