I know that if Will and Kate really love each other, then there's nothing we can do, but I think considering that the people are the one paying the taxes used for the royal family, then I think the people can say if Kate is fit for royalty or not.

In my opinion, Kate is not fit for royalty. I'm not saying she;s a very horrible person, but some of the things she does just don't sound right for a future princess. For one, I've hardly heard her being very active in charities and such. Also, how did she survive for a year without a job? Her outfits seem high-class and expensive to the point that it makes me doubtful how one 'commoner' could afford all those.

Also, she and Will keep traveling a lot and sleeping in hotels? Who do you think is paying for all those?

Also, she's not engaged yet but with all these talks about Will about to propose soon, I highly doubt that her head had not grown large already. I mean, with 5 years of dating, she's highly guaranteed to be princess Kate someday.

So sorry to those who like her, but her face just says, "Ka-ching!"

I guess so. Royalty, as any other institution in the world, has to be updated and must be prone/willing to experience all the changes that could improve its current status. What I believe is that she's pretty young (both, Prince William and she) to become a formal couple and to carry on their shoulders the responsabilities such title bears.
I think that if they love each other, as it seems to happen, they should wait for at least three more years to get married.
;)

The only one fit to make that decision is Prince William. He seems like an intelligent, caring young man who is more than capable of deciding who he wants to spend his life with. If they mutually decide that they want to spend their lives together and get married then yes, she is fit to be royalty.

Even though the queen likes Kate, I still say that she is not fit to be royalty.
It is not because she's a so called commoner. I believe plenty of commoners would make good monarchs if they were royalty. It's the way she does things, and her attitude.
She has this "I'm Going to Marry Prince William" attitude and it's all over her face. No lie. It seems to me she wants to marry William more than William wants to marry her. William wants to get married at 28. She wants to marry now.
ALSO: All she does is shop and club.
The royals have their own charities and give money away to the needy. All Kate does is shop.
A true princess will show the public she cares about them. I believe William actually cares for his people, like his mother did. Diana was fit to be a princess. Kate will NEVER live up to Di's standards, no matter how hard she tries.
Even Camilla is better than Kate.

However do not think I am anti-Kate. I am not attracted to Prince William. I believe he deserves better, is all.

I don't think she's proven herself yet. She doesn't actually go out and do the charity with Prince William, and to my knowledge she has gone at least a year after graduating from university without a job. All we ever see her do is go clubbing and shopping.

She has been in Prince William's life for 4 years now and has done nothing untoward like Fergie and company of old. I'd say she is.

Who is Kate Middleton?

Royalty isn't as important or honorable as it used to be.

Depends if one deems earthly royalty anything to aspire to. Sounds more a case against inbreeding, licentiousness, murder, and general all around scurvy doings!
