What is it, where did you get it, from whom, do you like it or cringe every time it is mentioned?
Mine is Tamer - received from a friend who was trying to get me into professional wrestling - it has stuck now for nearly 20 years, most people who call me by it dont even know its origin. It still makes me wince when I hear it!!!

I dont have a nickname as such that I would introduce myself as but have often found that people sooner or later just start calling me Macca which is from my surname....
My girlfriend is often called Sunshine...I think that is kind of cool...
Here in Aus Sunshine is a common term used for friendly people whose name you may not remember.... but if it is said with a bit of an edge it actually means you dont actually think the person is very sunshiny at all..Like if you saw a person jimmying open a door you might yell "Hey Sunshine!" but when said with a smile it is a genuie term of affection...
From time to time people have also used the nickname Big Bird for her ( She is 5'9") and it is usually young men suffering from a serious case of short man syndrome who call her that...
Though my favourite name that was given to her was Feryl. She was working with adolescent boys in custody and they used to all call her feral.... which rhymes with her name Cheryl... I think it suits her the best.. She is a little feral and dont really fit into any neat little boxes

You can ask your close mates to use your name but they may tease you especially seeing its been 20 years they have been using it,
they may not remember your real name now lol
but really a nickname is really just a pet name for you started through a joke
but come on it wont hurt you
you said a friend started it & he liked you hey!!

Mine is yanny, i used to cringe when people said it but now it's cool. I got it from my mother.

Batty - For Meatloaf's 'Bat out of Hell' song. It was one of my favorites in High school and all my friends said that I drove like a bat out of hell.....

Wild Bill.Guys from work gave it to me.I kinda like it,better then billy the kid i guess.
