I just want serious answers, because they belong to a family member and any advice would be greatly appreciated, thank you!

Unfortunately, that is in their nature. You aren't going to be able to stop them, but you could minimize the amount of yard they take up by putting in a fenced area for them. You can make the area as large as you would like, but giving them free reign isn't the answer.

You can build a fence or get a dog that will chase them away. Make sure you dog is large enough to take care of himself, as some hogs can get mean sometimes.

I agree. My kids brought home baby pigs without preparing a proper enclosure. The pigs ran all over the place. When they built a solid pen the pigs stayed in.

Your relative needs to fence them in. There's no way pigs should be running around in the yard; their refuse is unhealthy and will make you sick if it's too close to the house.

A standard stock pen wont work! If they can see thru, they can be thru it. It sounds cruel, but it's not... The only way to keep them in is with an electric fence

Wrestle with them. They are looking for food and that food is roots, rodents and the like. Theses are natures rototillers. The only other thing you can do is put down concrete.
