I was thinking of going to the local police academy and putting on the nations ss uniform . Then I could slap some poor people around shoot a few and beat the hell out of them and still collect an ataboy and a pay-check twice a month .
Or I could apply at Raytheon and begin to defend my nation by attacking Iraq with laser guided weapons that always hit the target and do not kill civilians .
Then Again a career in politics might be for me . Start a non profit to funnel cash donations through and black mail the local paper into some good press .later running for state congress and then senator and on to the white house . I would deny I inhaled just like the rest of them .
Maybe I could become a fiction writer .And say stuff like the government killed kennedy -- north vietnam attacked our navy in open waters and we kicked the hell out of them .
Or I could just stay retired and posting stuff on here and elsewhere .

For once I really have to take issue with you. My son-in-law is a cop. The so-called poor people that he must deal with have no possible salvation, regardless of the opportunities. You and I have debated this issue of the poor on several occasions. There is no external reason for a person to be poor in America. People live in poverty in America because of the choices they make.
Everything else in your diatribe has some ring of truth to it, however. I especially like the mention of the Gulf of Tonkin incident. Very few people are aware of that bit of American history.
