CLIFF HARRIS SS

DALLAS '70-'79 a.k.a. ~ 'CAPTAIN CRASH'

B: 11/12/48 Fayetteville, AR. Col: Ouachita Baptist Draft: undrafted H: 6'0" W: 188

Dallas Cowboys : All-Pro '74-'79 ~ Pro Bowl '75-'76, '78-'80

Nicknamed "Captain Crash" by his teammates for his reckless pursuit of ball carriers. Pro Football Hall of Fame safety Larry Wilson said of Harris, "I feel Harris is the finest free safety in the business today. He changed the way the position is being played. You see other teams modeling their free safeties around the way Harris plays the pass, and striking fear in everyone on the field because he hits so hard."

I just loved seeing Jack Lambert of the Steelers plant Harris for harassing the Steelers kicker in the Super Bowl. Harris went down like a submarine! Harris was a good player, but Lambert was better at intimidating & hitting.

ummm your list came out all wierd and hard to read but it sound like he was a good player, Its so much harder for defensive players to be inducted just basically because they not the one running or throwing the touchdowns in. Since you no so much about him, do you think he should be in the hall of fame. Did he have the power to turn the whole game around. Ive never heard of him and people these days dont give a damn until you get in trouble or die.

Totally agree. Crash was as vicious as they came in putting lights out hits on ballcarriers. Unfortunately, his preoccupation with headhunting hindered his ability to snare interceptions, leaving him with weak numbers.

Harris should be in for doing so much that didnt make the box score. Stats dont tell the whole story, look at lynn swann!

ABSOLUTELY...along with his hard hitting buddy Charlie Waters. There wasn't a receiver in the league that didn't look around before the catch when they were playing.

No because he is a cowboy...jk
If he got a couple sacks and forced fumbles then I think he should be in the hall of fame

Honestly, I've never heard of him.
My thoughts on the Hall of Fame are, if you have to ask, then no.
