Borat took a special sense of humor to watch. Fortunate for me I possess such a demented one. There were some people I told to NOT see it because they would not find it amusing.

I like dumb comedy and satires i.e I loved Kingpin, Spinal Tap, Jackass, etc....

But I hated Borat. I'm perplexed why so many thought it was so funny. It did not feel fresh or new or shocking.

I found the jokes to be flat and dated. So maybe 5-6 big laughs the whole movie. Not sure that makes up for having to watch obese male wrestling.....

How many times do we need to see a "foreigner" turn on the TV and say "oh my" at Baywatch? That has been done to death already. Ugly Eastern European wife? Done, Frat boys drinking? Done.... etc etc. ....

I haven't seen the film, but I've seen many clips on TV, seen Borat on talk shows, watched/read/heard news stories about him, and talked to people who've seen the movie. It seems that Sacha Boron Cohen greatly - and rudely - deceived a lot of people and that he edited out footage that would have made those in the movie appear not so rude or stupid. Apparently he did not apply the golden rule of treating others the way he'd like to be treated.

hysterical and sick.

Were you at all familiar with the Borat character before seeing the movie? If not, I can see how it would be hard to enjoy. You need to see him a few times before it gets over just being obnoxious and starts being very funny.

I left the theater after the first 30 minutes, and so did most of the other people. It seems like with that movie, either patrons were laughing until they cried, or leaving...there was no middle ground. I found it horribly offensive and distasteful. I'm ashamed the man made any of my hard earned $$$!

If the movie is as stupid as his appearance on The Tonight Show, I'm glad I didn't waste $10 to see it!

i thought this movie was awful. i hate when it seems like someone is trying to be funny. i like when they just are. it seemed very forced. and i find it very hard to believe that a lot of people didnt know who he was and that he was making a movie. if he actually tried to kid-nap pamela anderson they would not have let him just run off like that. it seemed fake to me and not very funny at all. i guess if you are a young teenage boy you would find it very humorous.
