I'm doing a book club with my family, and I need a good book to read! The book has to be notable some how. If it is a best seller, very popular, or has been given a reward thwn I could use it. I love fantasy, but I love a lot of other books too. If you could give me the name, and author of a book, that would be great! Thank you!

One of my most favorite books in the whole wide world is The Perks Of Being A Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky. It's not fantasy, but it's a the type of book that once you get started on, you can't put down until you are done reading it. Go to www.wikipedia.org and look it up, then decide, but I'm telling you, it's a GREAT book.

I would suggest Danta Volume 1: the Inferno or Gone With the Wind.
Gone With The Wind is really good and there are lots of things you could discuss about it. It may take a while though
I would also suggest The Son of the Mob. It is a short (under 100 pages dont know for sure but I think that it is what it is) I dont know if it meets the critera though .
The bookclub that just started is going to read The Singing Bees (I think that is what it's called) and it's reported to be very good

Well it would help to know the ages of your family but I am going to assume that you are looking for something with a little less profanity, graphic violence, and explicit sexual content?

I really enjoy "The Cat Who . . ." books by Lillian Jackson Braun. Most libraries have enough copies for the entire family to enjoy! Tamar Myers makes some interesting novels under the Pennsylvania Dutch mystery series. What about a classic like "The Mirror Cracked" by Agatha Christie or "The Murder on the Orient Express" by Agatha Christie. With those you could all keep a running list of who you though "did it" and why until you got to the very end.

Fantasy wise I love Marion Zimmer-Bradley "Darkover" novels. Landfall would be a neat one to start with because you could discuss what you would do if you were stranded on an alien planet!

The Giver by Lois Lowry is a great book club book! Well known, possibly has an award, an amazing book, appropriate, and much to discuss. My family's done that same thing, and we used that book.

I'm sorry that I'm only suggesting one, though. It's just that there are so many great ones that that one's the only one that I can think of that would be GREAT, no matter what your age range. The Princess Bride might be good too though, now that I think about it.

Well, two of the most notable as of now are 'Eragon' and 'Eldest' by Paolini. 'Wicked' by Maguire would be a good choice too.
