Is it possible to still get your period when you are pregnant? I have heard this happens in some cases and just want to know if it is true. Is there something medically wrong when a woman still has a period when she is pregnant? Does she experience it the same way or is it different (i.e. lighter and/or shorter in duration)? Thanks!

it is very rare for a women to bleed the entired pregnancy, but it has happened. IT is called spotting not a period. I spotted once a month for the first 3 months of my pregnancy and was worried everytime but i am now 8 months with a healthy baby. Usually the spotting is lighter, sometimes brownish, and only lasts for a day or two.

Yes you can have a period when you are pregnant, my Aunt had a period for the first six months of her pregnancy. Go to your OBGYN Dr. and get checked out to be on the safe side. Best Wishes and Happy New year.

I personally had periods for 4 mounths during my first pregnancy. They were lighter, but still hit on the cycle dates.

I had my period for 4 months when I was pregnant with my first. it was exactly the same as every other period i had.

My cousin had hers the whole time she was pregnant. No change what so ever.

many Dr's will tell you that you will not ever have a period wile your are pregnant that it is impossible. sometimes there is light spotting.
with my first they asked for the date of my last period I told them she said i was wrong and wrote down her guess.

It happens some times and there is no need to worry. But you need to always let your doctor any problems when you are pregnant. Just to make sure there is nothing wrong.
