The mood is eerie, and filled with false truths. The main character (do we ever learn his name??) is arguing with himself about his sanity. Something wrong with that?? Basically it is about the narrator, (told in first person) who is greatly bothered by the eye of the man he works for. He wrestles with himself through-out the entire story about his emotions and what he feels about his employers eye. This fear and insanity the narrator feels leads to a dramatic ending. Its an interesting read.
