I am 16 weeks (4 months) pregnant and I have had a constant headache for a little longer than a month. I read on a website that it could be bad. I have good blood pressure everytime I have been tested. I have a doctors appointment in 10 days should I wait and ask him about it or should I call the doctors office today?

Headaches are very common during pregnancy, due to higher hormone levels and more blood use in other areas. Anytime, you are worried about something, you should ask your doctor, but it doesn't warrant a call if you'll be seeing him in a few days. If you're that concerned, go ahead and give them a call. Good Luck!

if headaches have not been a problem for you before you were pregnant, this might be a sign that your blood pressure is going up. did you have the headache issue the last time you went to the doctor? i'd probably give your doctor a call today, if i were you & see if he can get you in for an earlier visit.

It is common for women to have occasional headaches while pregnant but not for a month straight you need to call your doctor right away and make sure everything is ok. Headaches can also be caused by dehydration so make sure you are drinking at least 8 glasses of water a day.

Call your doctor's office anyway and see what you can take to suppress the pain. I'm thinking that the only thing they'll be able to suggest is Tylenol for the pain. I was having a lot of headaches during the early stages of my pregnancy. I've read that if you were prone to having headaches before pregnancy, you are more prone to having them during pregnancy. If the headache is unbearable, I urge you to call the doctor. Better safe than sorry...

Good luck!

Usuallly when people talk about headaches being a bad thing it is because of blood pressure problems. Luckily they don't start this early into pregnancy. I would definately talk with your doctor when you go see him but in the mean time try 1000 mg. tylenol. Good luck

It is normal to get the occassional headache with pregnancy. If you are getting a constant headache for a month straight, it wouldn't be a bad idea to see your doctor about it.

the headache is normal. Its the hormones.. most likely estrogen. I'm sure you've cut out all caffeine from your diet, so it could be a little bit of withdrawl as well... Make sure you let your doctor know about the headaches! Good luck and congratulations

With my last daughter I had a headache that never went away. If you blood pressure in good and you don't have a large amount of protein in your urine, than you should be fine. I would ask if they can give you anything to help, nothing helped me though. Good luck and congrats

I had horrible headaches too when I was pregnant. Sometimes it was my sinuses. Take a washcloth and wet it with hot water, then fold it into a rectangle (half then half again all lengthwise) and hold it over the bridge of your nose for a few minutes. take a few deep breathes. It often helped for me.

Ask your doctor but it is most likely hormones or insomnia. I had the worst case of insomnia during my pregancy - I was up at 3:00 every morning and had nasty headaches because of it. You also want to make sure you are keeping yourself hydrated.
