call him my husfriend? I really don't see what the big deal is. Gay people have commitment ceromonies and use those terms.....Can you think of a better one?

I say call him your husband. Who cares what others think. He's your man...and you will marry him some day....Call him your husband. I call my boyfriend my hubby because we're getting married when we're ready financially to do so. Good Luck with this!

Some states are common-law, meaning if you have lived together a certain amount of time, you are considered married and especially if you have represented that you are.


There can be legal liabilities to this if your spouse does not pay taxes.

You can't legally use his name if you are not married. Commingling money should not be done.

What do you care if people get mad? Tell people to mind their own business. If you want to call him your husband go right ahead!

I don't see how it would bother anyone other than the most prudish of people. Call him what you want it doesn't affect anything.
