Here are some helpful suggestions:
1)Treat others the way you would want someone to treat you.
2) Don't allow anyone or anything to control your actions or reactions.
3)Lots of people know how to be mean and nasty, because it's so easy to do. The challenge is in not following the crowd. To be mean, hurtful, rude, and uncaring is what most people do in circumstances that are difficult or irritating. But a person who's nice to others carries less stress in their life and they look and feel less angry and burdened.

Just.... be nice. Complimenting people [at the right time] can help. It IS difficult to be nice to people, so choose people who won't judge you based on what you did but will allow you to change. Sometimes people just won't accept you for who you are... nice or not. Good luck ;)
