Is there some biological, scientifical or theological explanation to this or is it all coincidence?

Tnx!

Interestingly it doesn't start out that way. In terms of live births, the ratio is something like 106 males for every 100 females. This probably has to do with the greater speed of a Y containing sperm compared to an X carrying one. Over time, the ratio shifts until eventually there are more women than men.

Why the shift? Part of the explanation has to do with risk taking. Boys tend to take more risks which means they die more often from accidents.

Also, because males have a single X chromosome, they are more likely to succumb to recessive problems than women. Another reason has to do with lifestyle.

In the past, it was mostly men who smoked. And were stressed from work. These men are now dying from various cancers, heart disease, etc. Women didn't start smoking and working in large numbers until much later. They are now starting to catch up in terms of deaths due to smoking.

One possible biological explanation is that males have only a single X chromosome while females have 2. Mutations of genes residing on the X will affect males more frequently than females. There is a slight excess of males at birth, but by late teens, the numbers are about the same. Females do then outnumber males at ages above the 20s or so.

It is because women are furthest along the evolutionary line...
now if men were able to go into labor there would be no need for women... they would then ruin the master plan and that is not going to happen.
There is also a theory that the extraterrestrials from the Orion galaxy are making a move to alter that plan by manipulating evolution on Earth by seeding for their own harvest for their own ways and means. Stay tuned if you are around in a million or so years or maybe sooner...

There are a couple of reasons.

1) Women tend to live a few years longer than men--so there's more around at any given time.

2) Slightly more women than men are born. The reason is that the sperm that fertalize the egg that are "female" are on average a bit stronger and faster than the "maale" sperm--so they "win the race" a little more often.

Considering (1) and (2) you gotta wonder where the nonsense about "male superiority" comes from. :)

Basically, since all of us begin our en utero lives as female, femaleness is a "default option" for any fetus with ambiguous DNA for gender. As just such ambiguity does occur, the majority of such fetuses remain female, creating at least part of a majority. Furthermore, as males only have one gene for any location left uncovered by their Y chromosome, the presence of any non-viable genes at those locations will often kill the male fetus affected, while female fetuses will have excellent odds of having at least one viable gene at that location and thus survive.

Because the majority of soldiers fighting and dying in war are men. Men get drafted, women do not.

Women live to an average greater age in enough countries to tip the balance slightly, or more, in their favor. To understand the male human animal is to understand why he takes himself out of the " race " so often.
