I keep having this dream that I'm home alone its getting late out so I decide to lock the door. The patio door (which is usually always locked) is suddenly open and I am about to close it when I see a man standing in my backyard looking at me through the window. This man scares me so I try to run and lock the door but I'm stuck. And he just stares at me getting closer and closer to the door and I can't move. What does that mean?

The man is an aspect of yourself which you are trying to suppress... a need, a feeling, a memory... Or a bodily function... If it's the last try not drinking before bed... Anxiety is sometimes caused by suppressed emotion and you mention the man causes you to feel frightened.

well, you say that ussually, that door is locked, rigth?
i think that your probably sacred at that so much, that you even have nightmares about it, i think nightmares are something, dreams are another thing, i belive that dreams can come true, nightmares dont. (thats what i think). By experience also, i alway like to keep doing what i always do, i dont like to try new things, i prefer to stay with the old ones, because i think, that when you do something new, it wont be as good as the old one, what i mean with this is, that you should keep that door locked at nigth,not sayng that it could happen, cuz i said it was a nightmare. anyway, how old are you?, have you ever been alone in your house?

i said that i woulda let the door locked rigth? but u also gota let go your fears,... are you scared to the patio?

when i was like 5, i had lots and lots of nigthmares, once i had one where there was a guy in the alacen of the kitchen, and hited mon in the head with a frying pan, sinse then, ive being scared to that place at nigth, also that room, has a little bulb, when the bulb of the kitchen is off and the one of the alacen is on, it looks really creepy, REALLY CRREPY, but i said to me that there was no such things in there as a guy with a frying pan hiting people, and i started going there, and now im not scared, but still, i get scared when the bulb is on,

To my understanding a home in a dream is symbolic of one's own mind. The basement is supposed to be the subconscious and the higher in the house you are the higher in your consciousness you are.

You are locking the door, so I would venture to guess you are trying to block out others' ideas and looking only to yourself in a situation of your waking life. But then it turns out that either a side or back door is open when you weren't expecting it to be. That would suggest that you feel that someone may be working "behind the scenes" to influence your decision. Not out and out telling you what to do but rather just showing influence or maybe even manipulating you to do something.

The fact that you are afraid would suggest closer to manipulation and that you may be doing something you feel is either wrong or at the very least not the path you want to take. Yet you feel you cannot "escape" that path (because you can't move away even though you try very hard to do so).

The important thing here is who the man is. I believe if you can bring yourself in your dream to stick around long enough to find out who it is, it will give you much insight into who you feel is influencing you so much. And no matter who it is, just remember that it might not be manipulation so much as it is simply they are taking you in a direction you feel is the wrong path. Meaning that there may be no bad intention on their part, just disagreement with their idea on your part.

Is something coming up in your life that you might not feel prepared or ready for? Assuming your doors are secure, there must be a deadline or a jumping off point that you need to face.
What would make you move and shut that door before you get hurt or fail? What is it that you don't think you can handle? And remember, people can toss ideas and analysis at you, but the dreamer has the key. You are the analyst and you know the meaning.

Home = safety zone
lock the door = protection needed,
man standing outside looking at you = paranoia, insecurity, privacy invasion
Can't move = losing control

It is so obvious that you are having issues about insecurity. Maybe something in your life lately that you don't feel safe or secure about. Projecting a stranger staring at you in your backyard could symbolize privacy invasion in your subconscious mind. This may be due to stress or anxiety. However, you are losing control. You have some fear in terms of being invaded in privacy. Maybe something has happened late in reality to cause you feel insecure.

Basically you vent this out in dream.
