Yes.
Blue eyes are recessive, so a person needs two blue alleles to have blue eyes.
For brown eyes, a person can have two brown alleles or one brown and one blue.
That means even TWO parents with brown eyes could have a blue eyed child. One would have to know the eye color of a few generations of the brown eyed person's family to figure out the odds of them having a blue allele.
Getting into shades of eye color, especially people with gray eyes, is a lot more complicated. There's more than just one allele that affects eye color and shades (just as there's more than just brown and blue eyes). The general eye color is just fairly simple as long as you're only talking brown and blue.
Still, DARK brown would be unlikely for a blue eyed parent - the caveat is that the difference between brown and dark brown is pretty subjective.

My ex and that i the two have brown eyes. in certainty he replaced into Mexican. Our daughter has blue eyes. The answerer above is completely incorrect...what he gave is an 8th grade text fabric e book, easy, dumbed down clarification. even nevertheless rather genetics are plenty deeper than that, and particularly comprise any traits that are possessed by potential of every physique in that kinfolk for quite a few generations back. For me my mom had blue eyes and his dad (from Spain) had blue eyes, and with an know-how of genetics, one might comprehend the way we brown eyed people ended up with a blue eyed daughter I even have twins with my husband.....the girl have been given his blue eyes and my dark hair and the boy have been given my dark eyes and his mild hair.

Yes. Recessive genes come into play. Both my parents have green/hazel eyes and out of four kids, 1 has hazel eyes, 1 brown, and 2 blue.

From About.com:
"Odd as it sounds, it’s much more common for brown-eyed parents to have blue-eyed children than for blue-eyed parents to have brown-eyed children."
Check the site for all the information on how these things happen.
