and my mom said that if u pinch it and it hurts then thats a good sign, but she stil wants me to have it checked but i dont think theres any need, any other reasons what it could be?

You should defently get it checked out, if you don't than it can possibly turn into something far worse. I'm sure you wouldn't want that to happen, It's better to be safe then sorry, cause u dont want to regret not getting it checked.

Whether is hurts or doesn't hurt when you pinch the lump has absolutely nothing to do with severity. You need to go to the doctor and have a good evaluation. It may be nothing serious, like a lymph node adsorbing an slight infection someplace, but it could be something much more serious. Only a fool wouldn't get it checked by a trained professional.

Have your doctor check it out. It could be something on the thyroid, a nodule perhaps. If the doctor can't find it by feeling the area then he could order a Barium swallow to check the esophagus. If that's negative, then a visit with the ENT is in order. A tumor? It's possible, that's why you need to have it evaluated. Anxiety can cause a sensation of a "lump in the throat"-they call it globus hystericus.

I got a lump on my neck and one on my leg. The one on the leg hurt like hell because it was resting on a nerve. They removed it and it turned out to be a benign tumour. The doc said i might have neurofibroma (phonetically spelt) which means I will ocassionally find these lumps which in themselves are harmless and not too affecting. However, better safe than sorry. You should definitely get it checked out.

It might be just a swollen lymph node...I know that mine get swollen on the back of my neck right below my hairline and in the front of my neck by where the adams apple is, if I'm sick or stressed out.
It would still be best to go get it checked out though...

ur apple might be coming out althogh when i was younger i had a lump at the bottom of my nekto the left and i had swollen glands as i went to the doctors but it is proably nothing to worry about it may even be tonsillitus so go check it out with a doctor

Let a physician answer this one. No need to speculate, there are lumps caused by fatty tissue & lumps caused by more serious conditions.

I think you might want to go get it looked at by the doctor. My dad is a retired doctor and he said it could possibly be cancer. So get it looked at ASAP!
