Most hospitals keep you for 3 days after a C-section, as long as you're healing properly, etc.

My hospital standard is a minimum of 3 nights and 4 nights if you delivered after 7 PM. It's going to be a decent stay, sorry! Usually the maternity/delivery ward is a lot nicer than the rest of the rooms and the nurses usually are too. Good Luck!

I believe the minimum is 2 days, not including the day of your c/s, so total would be about 3 days. You might want to reconsider your thoughts about getting out asap. I was in for 4 days total, but insurance would've paid for another day. I was ready to go home (or so I thought). After wards I realized I should've stayed that extra day, if for nothing else, free child care. My daughter stayed in my room with me, but when I needed to get some sleep, the nurses would take her back to the nursery. I also didn't have to worry about cooking meals, laundry, etc... This time I am staying as long as possible. Good luck.

I had a c-section in 2004 and stayed for 2 days. I just had another baby via c-section 8 weeks ago and stayed for 4 days. But really it depends on how you feel and what your doctor thinks.

You need to stay as long as they will keep you. No matter what you think and feel about hospitals. They hospital is a safe nice place to stay while getting better and prepare-paring your self to take your child. home. While your in the hospital you will get all the help you need with the baby. And no cooking or cleaning. Relax enjoy the time you get in there, try not to rush getting home its for the best.

I had two c-sections. I was in for three days each time. Just be sure to bring things with you that you can enjoy....videos, magazines, music, etc. You'll probably spend a lot of time sleeping, as will your baby. Be kind to the nurses, but be sure to tell them what you want and what you need. Have them help you with your baby. They will bring him/her to you for most of the day, then take him/her away at night so you can sleep. It will be over before you know it. Just take it easy. Healing from a c-section will take time, so be good to yourself. And congratulations!

if all goes well, 3 days. I had 3 c-sections and the first two, I was there 3 days after delivery. With my last one, though, I ended up in a medically enduced coma so I was there 11. It could be worse!!! :)
