My stepbrother went to a well-to-do private school. One of the students was given a brand new convertible. Mercedes I think. They made their father take it back and get "the right one".
I'd have taken it back, then used some of the money to send my kid to somewhere like, oh i don't know, Democratic Republic of Congo for a year. Perhaps somewhere a little less dangerous. Maybe 50kms east of Broome, WA, Australia. That would sort out her priorities. ;-)
