You say "American football is deadly dull" - so you must be comparing it to soccer. Id rather watch paint dry or grass grow than watch a 3 hour soccer game end in a zero to zero tie! The most exciting part of soccer is the riots & there in the stands!

You must have never watched a game. I would recommend you try watching a college game as the pro's are a little more dull. College football has everything you could want in a sporting event. Drama, scoring, excitement (big plays), tradition and of course co-eds. It is a beautiful thing to watch.

Well i guess it works for impatient americans who dont have the mental capacity to appreciate the style and grace of a footballer like Zidane or Ronaldinho.
Americans arent the brightest so they need large scores and everything in between just bores them.
Also, the atmosphere in an american football game doesnt come close to matching the singing and passion you would get at a top footy game.

Its because you spend so much time having sex with other people of your same gender.
At least every possession has a good chance to end in a score, unlike soccer, where its 90 solid minutes of turnover turnover turnover. If there was an NFL game that went into double overtime and finished with 45 turnovers and 3 scoring drives, it'd be called the worst played game ever.

The game is all about passion for your team and fans and trying to give it your all to win. While using Witt's and strength. The game is more of a active chess game. It's great even though most Americans don't realize it. I mean think about it, you have to outwit and out-athlete another team. this, THIS IS what it make it a great game. Besides two people breaking the hell out of one anther's bodies..

Really, I find it the most entertaining sport, every play holds interest.
It's not a repetitive as basketball
not as slow paced as baseball, or even worse Soccer or hockey.
Well at least hockey has fights. I consider soccer & golf the most boring to watch.

Soccer where there is one maybe two scores a game?
Baseball-same can be said, only quite as boring
Hockey-4 or 5 scores a game, plus fights and hits, slightly entertaining
Basketball-High powered offense, little contact, better than hockey
Football-constant fights and contact, high powered offenses, drama tension.....
I fail to see how this is boring
but i will say that there are too many commercials

i think soccer is deadly dull. final score 1-0?? boring yawn...just guys running around kicking a ball. american football has hard hitting and is much more exciting. there is a reason why soccer isnt popular in america. no kid wants to say when i grow up i want to be a soccer player. kids say i want to be a football or basketball or baseball player.
