The only problem I have with them is that my tax dollars are being used to subsidize their profits.
Not only are we providing direct subsidies to the tune of about $2,600,000,000 for their operation, we are also providing an enormously expensive military to guard them. I'd just like to see them take on a little more of the cost, and the taxpayers a little less.

How many gallons of gas did you buy to fill your tank? How many gallons of. milk do you buy in the time it takes before you fill-up your gas tank again? If everyone bought as much milk as they do gasoline, your question might make sense. Otherwise you're just comparing apples to oranges. It's a well known fact that most of the engineering know how to extract oil was developed right here in the US. That same know how is used by the oil producing nations of the world to extract money from oil consuming nations aided and abetted by the greed of the oil companies within our own borders. Those companies have been reaping windfall profits for years now, how do you explain the profits if production costs are so expensive?

Last time I checked I did not buy 20 gallons of milk at once. We are not only paying 2.19 but thirty or more dollars at a sitting. The fiasco with the energy companies was gouging like the rapid increase of prices despite well supplied markets and production. Milk went to four bucks because price controls were finally removed but milk is not as profitable as oil, and requires much more land and work. The profits Exon was absorbing was not being properly reinvested into producing more energy. I have a disdain to any company that is pulling Billions in profits that equates to being blood and sweat from the poorest of people.

I personally have a beef because they are crooks. We have the ability to..........how do I want to put this.......make, get more oil. They hold oil back, or shut down refineries because they want to make more money. Secondly we use maybe a gallon of milk a week. I use over a gallon of gas a day. It adds up. Make sense?

I haven't heard that milk farmers are multiplying their profits by 300% each year.
When the "haves" have almost all the wealth, the "have nots" will not be happy. Eventually what the haves have won't matter because the have nots will have so little that they can no longer buy anything from them.

Don't forget that milk prices are kept high by government decree, so the dairy farmers can make good money.
Isn't government interference in the marketplace wonderful?

I have to tell you I work in the oil drilling business and it is amazing the cost that goes into just extracting oil, not to mention the costs of transporting and refining it.

everybody here believes that a company who makes record profits are evil and bad- the only good companies don't make any money at all- and they don't understand how commodities are traded throughout the world or otherwise they would close their yaps

Exxon Mobil made record profits last quarter of any company in the history of the United States. That is why people are pissed off.
