I absolutely love the bonsai tree, i'm amazed just how small they are...and it is said that the bonsai tree is a symbol of immortality, and symbolizes mastery over nature...if you could give me your own definition of your own symbol of immortality, and mastery over nature what would you use as your symbol?...... and what does the name bonsai mean? this shouldn't be too hard.

when i was a kid
i heard that some bonsai trees got
naturally or accidentally
created in farm fields in Ontario/Canada
when the plows and field clearing equipment

would pass over and chop a small tree
down year after year
keeping them at
a height of 4 - 6 inches
and the resilient thing would somehow survive and keep Being a tree

i was dizzy with excitement at the thought of finding one of these little 'Japanese' trees here in Canada

in the back of my mind I was always looking for them,
to me, they represented auspiciousness,
a hidden, humble, dear life form

your question jogged my memory!
Thank-you

I love bonsai myself. It's completely unlike any other type of horticulture. My symbol of immortality would be the Mobius strip. (Look it up — it's very hard to explain.)

This isn't a family & relationship question. It should have been put into another category like Horticulture or Botonany.
