I did not care for it very much, and I am a big fan of Stephen King. It just didn't seem to have much to keep me interested. Because I enjoy his writings, I plugged away and finished reading it, but came away unsatisfied.

I think his best ever is The Stand, and other faves of mine include Salem's Lot, Zone, It, Needful Things, Pet Sematary and the collection that included the stories from which the movies Stand by Me, Langoliers and Shawshank Redemption were made.

Yes, I do own a cell phone--a prepaid one---and the way I see some people with phones attached to their ears seemingly all the time, wow. what a way to create zombies.....

but it did not engross me like many of his other books.

I've read all of SK's books. Cell was okay, not King's best certainly, but an okay read. I think the movie will be good. However, I hated the ending of Cell and thought it was a cop-out. My favorite King books are The Dark Tower series, The Talisman, and Salem's Lot. Yep, I own a cell phone and just try not to think about it :-)

I enjoyed the book. It's not as good as some of his earlier novels, but it was entertaining. I do have a cell phone and it does make you wonder if something like that could happen. With the technology we have today it makes me think that just about anything could be done if the right people get involved.

Never heard of it. Yes, of course. 1/8/06

1/09/06 - I read a couple of excerpts from the book online after I read your question yesterday. So far, it seems pretty good. I will definitely buy it to read the whole thing. The thing that bugs me about King is that he is very wordy. I find myself skipping the unimportant extremely wordy descriptive parts. My favorite book of his was Insomnia. It was long, but I enjoyed it immensely.

I'm about half-way through it, and loving it - I'm already casting the movie in my mind!
