How do I open an interview with my favorite band? I've never done an interview before but I'm really excited about this one and I want it to go well. Thanks!

if they have an interesting name i would ask how they got the band name

With no new monster bands so far this decade, how does a band get noticed and make a living now?
Where can a person find your find your work (if the band is not well known)?
Where the furthest the band has been for a gig? If it is a long trip, what does the band do to pass the time?

ask the band about the funniest thing that has happened to them while performing. you might hear some crazy stories!
does the band have an interesting name? ask them how they came up with the name, whose idea it was to start the band up, etc...

How about "What do you think sets you apart from other bands in your genre?" or something like that.
Or, "What do you hope the future holds for you guys?"
