What are you interested in being in the 8th grade.
What usually makes a good speach is the fact that the speaker knows and understands the subject. Speak on something you know and understand. That will help you be more credible with your audience.
for example.
If you play sports and understand the sport, pick a sports topic, such as new rules for soccer, or the BCS, what and why?
If you are into computer gaming, then a topic like what are the best forms of games and what to look for when choosing a game to play.
If you're into science, then a scientific subject.
Remember to make it relevant to the audience. Don't speak over thier heads just to sound smart, speak to them at thier level and get them interested in your topic. The audience is usually your class, but your teacher must feel interested as well.
Good luck

I suggest you talk about the controversial execution of Saddam Hussein recently. Talk about if it's right or wrong and also, talk about the effect of the death of Saddam to the lives of the Americans and those in the Middle East.
Here are just a few reminders while having your speech:
Be sure to avoid being biased. Even though you think it's correct or you think it's wrong, you shouldn't show the listeners that you are clinging to a particular option.
Use eye contact.
Ask questions to the listeners.
Use hand gestures if necessary.
Good luck in your speech.

My 9th grade daughter just did a speech on how not all blondes deserve the jokes. She started and ended with blonde jokes but proved her point by talking about famous blondes throughout history. Funny and informative!

Well you can talk about how McDonald's isnt really a fast food chain. It's actually a Real-Estate business. Or talk about the war in Iraq. Talk about the way fame and media has taken over our society. Talk about your goals. Talk about a way to prevent Global warming. Talk about how Marriage is more of a financial partnership than love. Talk about human rights!!!!

How about...."The world in 100 years." You could talk about some of the bad things that you think will happen and then finish with all the positive things you believe will occur. Hope it helps, and I hope you're speech is great.

Explain that global warming to the extent that it exists is caused by the sun getting hotter and not by anything humans have ever done or are doing now, nor will it be fixed by anything humans can do.
