Can I update this modem (Agere Systems PCI-SVPP Soft Modem ) to have voice capabilities?

Hmm, not exactly an answer, but, according to Agere's website they only make the chipset for modems. They do however, offer an Upgrade driver (Version 8.30) for ONLY V90 modems.

They don't specify what the "upgrade\s are\do though.

Also, they list several models of modems the upgrade will NOT work on, among them is the "Agere Systems PCI Soft Modem", note it does NOT have the "SVPP" as you included. Not sure if this applies to yours then.

I'd suggest contacting the manufacturer of your computer to get the EXACT Make & Model of your Modem.
