Third world countries are easy targets compared to Russia or China. You don't see a bully try to pick fights with another bully do you? The bully always picks on the little guy, until the little guy one day teaches the bully a good lesson.

When we began our war with NORTH Korea, it was in defense of our protectorate, South Korea. Since then we have only had a cease fire. South Korea knows it, North Korea knows it, the Leadership of the United States, Japan, and China all know it. So what that we gave North Korea Plutonium to build Nuclear power plants to give them electricity with the agreement that they not build nuclear bombs out of it? So what that they have now tested a Nuclear bomb and the United States and South Korea are still at war with them? They are a third world country, we shouldn't attack them. So what that Iraq was lighting up those very same jets that were imposing sanctions on Iraq for their invasion of Kuwait? So what that they were telling our weapons inspectors that they couldn't investigate certain places for their "National Security"? So what. So what that (One you missed, by the way) the dictator of Panama, Manual Noreaga was actively smuggling drugs into the United States using treaties with the United States to circumvent any inspection AND had his soldiers kill 2 marines in cold blood? So what. The united states should leave them Third world countries alone. To date, Russia has not invaded any country that was allied with the united states. The have given military aid to some of them, just as we have given military aid to others (Vietnam. It was fought by the North Vietnamese vs the South Vietnamese, with Russia fighting with the north and America fighting with the south. Reverse is true with Korea), but to date there has never been an act from Russians against Americans. A better question would be, how come Russia hasn't attacked America since America broke the Anti-missile Agreement?

So, to answer your question, America fights only third world countries because America feels that death by a thousand stones isn't fun.

Wow it's amazing to read what some of you right wingers are writing. If we elect a man who is able to communicate, listen, negotiate, work with all kinds of people within and without of the USA you think he will make us a third world country? And you think McCain will do... what? Continue worn out trickle down economics that didn't work for the past 8 years just like they didn't work for 8 years under Reagan? Somehow working WITH the world rather than taking an isolationist approach will hurt America? Get real. The world has gotten smaller. Its a global economy. Terrorism is a global problem (not just to be fought in Iraq). Environmental problems are a global concern. We need an administration that can work effectively with other countries and deal with global concerns. You've seen the world react to Obama. They love him! As far as internal problems go - giving tax breaks to 95% of Americans can't be all bad. Funding research into alternative energies to become independent of our reliance on foreign oil is incredibly important. Providing health care for ALL Americans is a good thing. Finding solutions to our economic problems will be challenging but Obama is better equipped to put together the best team possible - that's why people like Warren Buffet support him - to successfully bring us through this crisis. Questions like the one posed at the top make me worry about the short sightedness of many Americans. Its time to move beyond fear and look at a positive future that comes with new leadership, diversity, positive action, and the belief that if we work together as a nation we can right the negative course we have taken over the recent past. No one will need to come to America's aid Especially if Obama wins. BTW - Arwen, your namesake was a healer, although not as gifted as her father, and married a man outside of her race. We have, and defeted the them. Japan, Germany, Spain, England. It is not that we are being bullies, it is that larger nations have grown up, it is the little ones that think they can do what ever. as for killing babies. We keep our women out of front line unit's, these other countries you named use them as cannon fodder. If you feel so strongly for these poor people, go fight for them. PS As for Vietnam, THEY use to put granades with babies to kill troops, and at least we, not any of these so called nations you mentioned, never raped or mutalated people just because they disagreed with them.
