i know, some people need to just chill before they answer a questions.
i wouldnt say that is was true that smoking pot does or doesnt hurt your baby during pregnancy. what i have most heard, is that there is no proof it does or dosent hurt it. i do agree with most people its not worth the risk. i can say this first hand, being almost 14 weeks pregnant and a former CHRONIC pot smoker, when i found out i was pregnant, i put it down. i told my doc about the way i was and he recommended i quit. so i did.. not quite cold turkey i will admit, as i mentioned i was a complete chronic, and i mean chronic.. i smoked daily like most people smoke cigarettes.. i would say since i found out i was pregnant, i have had a little bit maybe once every two weeks. its very hard to put your body through that kind of withdrawl. but i think im doing very well, i have been completely honest with my doc, my baby so far is healthy and my doc said although i was chronically smoking before hand, since i have pretty much given it up, i and my baby should be ok..
anyway.. my opinion is i wouldnt go by those books saying that it is ok to smoke anything.. just as its not the best idea to drink or eat junk food everyday.

ummmm... no i've never been told by anyone especially not a doctor that smoking pot while pregnant wouldn't hurt the baby whatever doctor said that needs to have his/her license to practice revoked the baby will still get second hand smoke (no smoke is good for the baby) it can also cause birth defects, have you ever seen the commercials that smoking a joint is the equivelant of smoking like 10 or 11 cigarettes?

The doctor that told you that is an idiot and you need to switch doctors....giving advice like that I'm not sure how he continues to be in practice. Smoking pot is not good for the baby....your baby is growing and everything you put in to your mouth or inhale affects it. It could stunt its growth, would end up with a low birthweight, could have respiratory issues or brain development could be affected. Smoking cigarettes will do that alone, I'm sure smoking pot does worse.

Well, the fact of the matter is that they have tried and tried to prove that marijuana consumption during pregnancy is harmful and they just can't. The truth is that the dangerous part is the smoke....but this would be true if you smoked oak leaves or grass from your yard! All kinds of smoke are harmful during pregnancy, but you will never find one solid study that showed that THC was harmful to the fetus.

I'm not endorsing marijuana by any means....but you should know the facts.

We do know that for you and your baby's health, you shouldn't smoke (cigarettes, marijuana, etc.)

First of all I would like to know what book you read that said it is ok to smoke pot when you are pregnant. Is this in your own bizarro world? Pot is definately not ok to smoke when you are pregnant, and can seriously harm your baby, just like smoking cigarettes.
Secondly, everything you put in your mouth DOES effect the baby. Please tell me you aren't pregnant and never plan to be.

IF YOU DIDN'T WANT TO HEAR THE TRUTH THAN YOU SHOULDN'T HAVE ASKED THE QUESTION. ALL YOU WANT TO HEAR IS THAT IT IS OK. IF YOU ARE ONLY SEARCHING FOR THE ANSWER THAT SUITS YOU BEST, THAN WHY BOTHER ASKING. GROW THE F*UCK UP

Wow! I'd be interested to know which books actually published that!!
It is incorrect!!! Smoking pot durring pregnancy is NOT GOOD for you or your baby!!!
It could harm the baby and cause you to have premature birth!
Same thing with "normal" cigarettes.

Never heard of it, but why would you smoke pot anyway? If you're pregnant, grow up already! You don't want to be raising a baby on dope!

The different night time my husband sat up in mattress was once cradling and rocking his pillow in his sleep. He was once pronouncing, "ssshhh, return to sleep." It was once relatively lovable. I seize myself swaying while I am at paintings, and making humorous child faces on the cat. Is it a mommy factor, or are we simply sleep disadvantaged? Edit: I listen the cries too. It's on the whole at approximately 2am while he's handed out rapid asleep in our mattress with us and I suppose I listen him crying within the nursery.

Smoking pot can do all of the same things that smoking cigarettes can do. I wouldn't risk it. Just because nothing happened to someone you know doesn't mean that it won't happen to you.

i smoked it before i found out i was pregnant with my son and he was a perfectly healthy baby. i also quit as soon as i found out i was pregnant, i didn't want to chance it. i think the doctor probably meant if u had done it before u knew it wouldn't harm the baby, he didn't mean smoking weed was okay for u or the baby during your pregnancy.
