Ok, here goes... I have 2 teenagers but have also read just about anything and everything I could get my hands on from the time my kids were little till their "adulthood", especially since I was going for my child development degree. Now, I'm not a doctor, nor do I claim to be one.... just learned alot from the school of hard knocks... and having kids... oh and an addiction to knowledge. :D

Answer a couple of questions, when was your very first period? When did you have sex in relationship to your last period?

First couple years of having periods you may not be on a regular schedule. I know myself, and my daughter didn't get on a REAL schedule until about 18-24 months of having periods. At times there were missed periods, or rather light flow periods.

Generally speaking "the most fertile period (the time with the highest likelihood of sexual intercourse leading to pregnancy) covers the time from some 5 days before ovulation until 1-2 days after ovulation. In an average 28 day cycle with a 14-day luteal phase, this corresponds to the second and the beginning of the third week of the cycle. Fertility awareness methods of birth control attempt to determine the precise time of ovulation in order to find the relatively fertile and the relatively infertile days in the cycle.

People who have heard about the menstrual cycle and ovulation may commonly and mistakenly assume, for contraceptive purposes, that menstrual cycles always take a regular 28 days, and that ovulation always occurs 14 days after beginning of the menses. This assumption may lead to unintended pregnancies. Note too that not every bleeding event counts as a menstruation, and this can mislead people in their calculation of the fertile window.

If a woman wants to conceive, the most fertile time occurs between 19 and 10 days prior to the expected menses."

Think also, do you live around another woman or women? What is their period schdule for periods? Were you insync with them? If not, maybe that is what your body is doing getting insync.

Among women living closely together, the onsets of menstruation may tend to synchronise somewhat. This McClintock effect was first described in 1971, and possibly explained by the action of pheromones in 1998.

And lastly, my doctor told me when I got pregnant with my kids. When taking a home pregnancy test, you CAN get a false negative, but you can't get a false positive. Re-take a home pregnancy test, follow the insturctions by the letter. Use your initial morning urine, etc. But as we all know, there is nothing more sure than a visit to the Doctor to relieve your stress.

Hope this helps.

I've heard alot of people know that they're pregnant befaore they take a test. Like they just know, they have that feeling or something. I got that feeling too. I only knew I was pregnant for like two days and then I lost it, I also knew that something was wrong when that heppend too. Obviously. I have a friend who took like a zillion tests and went to the doctor and was pregnant but all tests came back negative. A positive test didn't come back until she was around 6 months! Sometimes unfortunately, you just have to wait. Go to your doctor though and see what they have to tell you. You could just be very stressed. I have had plenty of freinds and personal experiance with stress and no periods. Don't freak out (unless you want to have a kid and then be happy if you think you are) just take it easy, call your doctor, take another test, everything will work out and be fine. Hope this helps, God bless

My husband kept telling me I was pregnant, but I didn't believe him. I took a test 2 weeks later (1 week after missed period) and it was positive! If it has been over 2 months since you had your period and the test came out negitive then I would go to the doctor because it could be something else that is wrong. Good luck!

I just knew, all 3 times. More so the last 2, I just felt different. With my 1st son,my first preg test came out negative, but I waited a day and took it again, because like I said, I knew....it came out negative. So, I took one again the next day and it was finally positive. If you are 2 months late, you really ought to have a doctor check, if home preg tests are still negative. If your not pregnant, I'm sure they will have other advice for you.

First of all you need to rule out other factors that is causing you not to start your period. Birth control pills can throw off your period for one; bladder or kidney infection for another. Stress can also play another big factor in missed periods. Remember too that not all pregnancy tests are accurate especially when a false reading is reached. Try taking another test if you want to, or go to your ob/gyn. There could be another reason why you have not started your period, ie: ovarian cyst, etc.

I knew like a week before my period that I was with this one. I kept getting negs. or a very faint second line. I would go to the doctor and see what they say, because for some reason rather it be a pregnancy or something else, your period is missing and you need to know why. Good luck

I knew because my period was like clockwork. I also had spotting like clockwork on the 21st day of my cycle. I didn't get that so I knew right away that I was pregnant. Go to the Dr or a Planned Parenthood office and get a blood test.

one one of her pregnancies my wife swore to me that she was pregnant, the day after we had had sex in a hotel room. because she was feeling "different" (can't tell you more i'm afraid, she didn't provide details).

as for the test, it is VERY reliable. If you've had one negative you could always assume that you used it improperly, and do a second one just to be sure. But if you get a second negative then you're very probably NOT pregnant.

as far as I know, but I'm not a doctor, women who suffer from even just mild anorexia can stop having their period.

all in all, and again not being a doctor, or a woman, I wonder why if you have such important questions, you don't just ask your gynaecologist?

I just knew, can't really explain it. Go to the doctor and have a blood test done. There could be other reasons you are not having a period.
