It won't play any DVD's for me, is there a certain cleaner I have to use or something?

I recommend keyboard cleaner..it is compressed air in a can..unplug you ps2 and spray back of it..where the fan is..get all dust out of there..then plug it back in and opne disc tray and spray in there real good..sometimes dust is on the lens thing..be careful with the spray though..if you turn in upside down white stuff shoots out and can damgage inside of your PS2

Try cleaning the lens (the thing that reads the disc) with a very soft cloth

Get a can of compressed air that has a straw-type thing on the nozzle. Open the disk tray, then blow a bunch of air in there.
That's about all you can do without opening the thing up and voiding your warranty.

if it says 'disc read error' then I'm sorry to tell you but your playstation 2 is dead, the same happened to my ps2, and I had to buy a new one...hopefully there is still life in yours yet
