I have black eye shadow, and I use a brush when applying eyeshadow. It doesn't seem to look right when I put it on with a brush or q-tip. I may be doing it wrong....any suggestions on different ways to apply it? I've tried applying it as an accent shade. Thanks in advance for the feedback.

I find that black eyeshadow is always too heavy. It doesn't flatter the eyes as well as it might seem to. I would highly, highly recommend black eyeliner instead. You can apply it easily in a clean straight line across the eyelid and put a little underneath the eye for symmetry. It gives the eye the illusion of looking bigger and brighter. I think you would find the affect much more appealing than with eyeshadow. Good luck!

If you want it dark then you need to wet your eyeshadow brush use the cheep kind that are cloth at the end not the brush. Using black is hard to mix with the other colors and is good only for night. I personally like the way that black mixes with pink for day use and you need to only use a dry brush to put this on. For the wet you will achive a dark look that looks good with silver accents put on wet as well. Godd Luck

There are specific types of make up brushes...each part of the face like the eyes especially has a specific brush.
It is also important what kind of bristles the brush is made with.
Put on a primer before applying make up as well.
