I am just finishing my bachelors in Psychology, I was told to make a double major and take biology; is this a good idea to get into medicine?

What is the ultimate goal for having this double major? Are you planning to become a Psychiatrist or go into a more medical field? How will the Biology further your professional goals?

The best person to ask would be your guidance counselor. They can help you pick the right courses to take to get the most from your education. They can also help you know if the double major will really be beneficial to your future career goals or if will just waste your time to pick up the extra course work.

Typically I'd say that if you can do a double major, go for it! Get the most from your education funds as you can.

you definitely don't need to do a double major, and you can go to medical school with a bachelor degree in whatever you want. i got a psychology degree before going to med school, and one of my classmates had gotten a degree in dance! you can major in whatever you want - in fact, medical schools tend to favor applicants who don't limit themselves to just science. no matter what your major, though, make sure you keep up with the course requirements for a pre-medicine curriculum (i.e., biology, chemistry, behavioral science, etc.)

Yes you can. In fact, the difference between a Psychologist and a Psychiatrist is that the Psychiatrist went to medical school, earning an M.D. so they can prescribe medications.
