But why do people keep saying Chelsea are in a class of their own.Yes it is true that Glazer has put us in debt but our revenue is still higher than that of Chelsea's and we have the largest stadium capacity in the EPL.Which means more tickets and more money.Manchester United are still the most markartable club in the world especially Asia where due to shirt sales of stars like Rooney Ronaldo Giggs are revenue is the highest.I was just writing this to ask why people just look at things that because of the Glazer takeover we are in trouble.Players like Rooney Ronaldo Giggs Saha Ferdinand and maybe recently Larsson are amongst the highest paid in the Premiership. It shows our payroll. So i was wondering why people just say ManUtd are no longer financially healthy. Please could you guys give answers with explanations.

Manchester United is my favourite club firstly and i have known them for the past 17 years.the reason why they say chelsea is in the class of their own is because nowadays the measure the wealth of a club by the ammount or worth of the players on the pitch and presently they have an over rich first 11 just like Real Madrid but Manchester United have the realised wealth in stocks in companies and so on that is why the say Chelsea is in their own class it is because of their players on the pitch and also because their owner is the richest man in Russia so those are the reasons.

Am reading the 1st few lines of yr post n am wondering y the hell do we, man utd fans, make a fool of ourselves!!!
Take for e.g a family man, earning £2000 and still has to pay his mortgage and various bills!
now for argument sake take richard branson who has paid off his mortgage and all debts and only has his bills to pay every month. besides he gets £2000 a month as well but has a vast fortune.
well Man Utd is the 1st case and Chelski the 2nd!
They both earn enuf for a living but one has less money left and has to spend wisely. the 2nd has a vast fortune to fall bak on!
Utd will compete with Chelski but only if they find the right players. We spent 18m on Carrick n 30m on Rooney. Shows we r nt shy to spend.
But Chelski has a damn lot more than we do. And until Roman stops digin in his personal fortune Chelski will have a much deeper pocket than any1 in the football world. Even the mighty Real can compete with Chelsea in these terms.
Come on thats kids mathematics!
They are in a different league. How many players have signed 100000+ contracts lately! we cnt do that!
but we r a strong brand otherwise Glazier wudt have bought us.

btw, when we went head to head we lost. essien, robben, duff and ballack. they all went to Chelski!

Man Utd 4eva

PS pretty much what Arcadia above me is sayin!! :)

Although ticket sales are not the main source of either club's income, what you say is essentially true. But the fact is that Chelsea have more instantly available money at their disposal because of Abramovich's billions, and can effectively accquire any player that they want simply by offering him a personal deal and wages that United cannot, at least without placing themselves in even greater debt.

The difference is that Glazer is a ruthless businessman who has bought United to ultimately make himself a profit, whilst Abramovich simply uses Chelsea as a plaything and can throw as much money into it as he cares without worrying about personally losing it all. Chelsea can afford to take a gamble on players, United cannot.

Chelsea are a rich man with all of his money in cash and sitting in his wallet, United are a rich man with all of his cash tied up in equity and a big bank loan to pay off.

"Financial health" in football is relative...most companies in almost any other industry would have be declared bankrupt if they were run like most football clubs. United are still better off than 99.8% of English clubs.
