No one can answer this with a definate answer. The earlier you quit the better off baby is going to be. The umbilical cord doesn't grow until 4 weeks so technically he didn't have what you had until you were 4 weeks along. The umbilical cord is really good for filtering out bad stuff baby doesn't need. You quit really early so chances are baby is going to be just fine. You will get more reassurance after your ultrasounds. Lots of praying only God can help. Good luck and God bless!

How can meth exposure impact pregnancy and birth?
Risk to the embryo and fetus during pregnancy can occur both in the production and use of meth. Some of the toxins created in making meth can cause malformation of an embryo and result in congenital defects and stillbirth.
Meth use during pregnancy can increase maternal blood pressure and heart rate, increasing the risk of premature delivery or spontaneous abortion. Meth also constricts blood vessels in the placenta, resulting in reduced blood flow to the fetus, and, thereby, a reduced oxygen and nutrient supply. Meth passes through the placenta and can cause elevated fetal blood pressure, which in turn can lead to prenatal stroke or damage to the heart or other major organs. It can also slow or alter fetal growth. With the exception of any major organ system damage, birth outcomes are thought to improve if the mother stops using meth in the last one to three months of the pregnancy.
Upon birth, babies exposed to meth in utero are frequently very sleepy for the first few weeks, often not waking to feed. After this time, they are often jittery, irritable and have a shrill cry. Some infants have withdrawal symptoms and need treatment for withdrawal. Infants exposed to meth in utero are also at increased risk for SIDS, viral hepatitis, and HIV.
If you are using meth and want to stop, our Substance Abuse Pamphlet has a statewide list of treatment facilities that can provide screening, assessment, and treatment for all substance abuse related problems.

Meth has lasting damaging effects, even if you take it before you're pregnant. You need to talk to your doctor and get yourself into a program to make sure you NEVER use again, even after the baby's born.

Probably not. Talk to a doctor about it. You shouldn't be doing drugs in the first place. All your brain cells are going to be gone. You have another life to be responsible for now, DO NOT DO ANOTHER DRUG while you are with child. You can screw up yourself but think of your baby, helpless and needs you to give her a healthy start.

I'm not going to criticize you. You are old enough and know the difference between right and wrong. I'm happy for you that you were able to quit. Please, for the sake of your child, don't use it again. Go to your doctor and ask him/her to run some tests. Don't worry so much. All of the worry will stress out the baby. Good luck.
