Let me see if I have this right -

**This war is about oil.
**Liberal Enviromentalists do not want us to drill for oil in Alaska.
Democrats voted FOR the WAR but AGAINST drilling in ALASKA for oil.

Hmmmm

I am a Conservative and I think we went to war because of terrorism NOT oil. Liberals think the war is about oil - NOT ME!

they would have us go to war and lose over displacing a few animals. ...hmmm homeless animals VS dead people, which is worse?

Very clever question. But you're talking about apples and oranges. The blood-for-oil war in Iraq has absolutely nothing to do with the issue of drilling for oil in Alaska. I'd love to explain, but truly feel that you just won't get it. And to be honest, I grow weary of the myopic views of the right.

P.S. Yeah, right. The war is about terror. That's why there were no terrorists in Iraq until we waged war, and none of the 9-11 terrorists were from Iraq.

well about 50% of democrats voted for the war.. not all (just so you know) but a true liberal would say why do either of those have to happen.. can't you not drill and rather than being greedy not kill and maybe find another source of energy? maybe the idea of peace is foreign to you as a republican.. but it can occur :) personally.. I think control of oil was just a piece of a much larger scheme.. there were many reasons why Bush went into Iraq and oil was a perk rather than a reason.

As Per docbrown: " iraq had nothing to do with terrorism, they were a very secular nation in terms of where they stood, we have only created more terrorists because of this war. I dont care about oil anywhere, we have the technology to use hybrid cars and electric cars. The war is a flawed policy and anyone who thinks that it was the right choice has not paid attention to what is going on over there."

Saddam Hussien was paying $25K US to the family of every Suicide Bomber in Israel, totalling over $200 million. Hussien murdered over 2 million of his own people. Hussien used weapons of mass destruction on his own people. Hussien threatened to use WMD on ISrael and other western nations. Hussien supported several international terror groups. The Baker report showed that almost 12 tons of WMD were taken out of Iraq. Hussien was restricting the flow of oil to the world economy. 3000 Americans have died in Iraq because the US did not put enough troops into the area, and have not maintained enough troops to ensure their own safety. Leaving Iraq now will only invite the terroroists to come here. Yes there are more terrorists in Iraq because that is where the American Army is. if we bring them home the terrorists will come here. Where do you want Americans to die 3000 in 4 yrs in Iraq or 3000 a day in the US (9-11 is a perfect example of terrorism in America.

Where do you want to fight this war???

The war is about 911 and the fact that we were attacked. And if the people that were elected into office were not oil men then we would probably drill in Alaska, But they get it cheaper from foreign sources. we went to war under the wrong circumstances and it is time to bring our troops home now.

Excellent question. Like every other idea that the liberal communist leftist agenda is pushing, it makes no sense whatsoever.

The libs have not learned from history, and would also rather see us 'talk' to out enemies, and be 'sensitive' and 'understanding' because it must have been something that we did to deserve the islamofascists wanting to kill us.

As far as the less than intelligent answer given byDebra H, perhaps you are right. People like michael moore who own millions in halliburton stock must be making a killing, eh?

The proof of the ANWAR oil reserves is detailed and the effects on the enviroment are very little. It is a resource that needs to be tapped into.

I'm not a Liberal, but I don't believe that war or drilling in Alaska is the answer to anything. We have enough oil in this world. We need to conserve and stop driving every where in massive gas-hogging vehicles.

why would anyone want to play a game like this with war. Your question is not valid. Why is it that you are unable to recognize the war in Iraq is wrong. We were lied to. Saddam was not a threat to the U.S. There is more than enough evidence to support this. Do you not care about the 3000 dead U.S. troops and their families. These people did not have to die.

**
Liberals do not think this war is about oil. we assume it might be as none of Bush's other reasons have panned out. We do know that it is NOT about terror.

NOTA, (understand)? And with Dictator Dumbya trying to do both you seem to pose a false choice. The third way is a sane renewable energy policy.
