Why do the majority of muslims carry a smell that is somewhat reminiscent of curry powder. The smell seems to be even stronger when the muslim becomes sweaty. The smell sometimes becomes so severe that it resembles that of a Chicken Korma. I am interested in scientific analysis only, please.

Diet.

"Extracts of proteins and oils from certain foods and spices remain in your body's excretions and secretions for hours after eating them and can impart an odor. Fish, cumin, curry, and garlic lead the list."

For the same reason that French people sometimes smell of garlic and English people (like me) sometimes smell of onions. However, people who say that Indian homes smell of curry may also be mistaking the curry smell for incense and personal hygiene products which use similar spices to curry. I personally love the smell of curry spices and often use incense to hide the smells of the home such as pets and body odour.

Everybodys tring to be so nice about it. I m not so nice. The reason the Arabs smell like dirty cloths and Curry. Is because theyr e dirty nasty peope that are afraid of water. I am a customer service worker, I go in peoples houses and do work. Every time I get a Indian costumer there house smells like dirty cloths and curry. EVERY SINGLE TIME. Without exceptions. I have been in hundreds of Irab houses. Every Arab house smells exactly the same. Dirty cloths and curry and they have bed bugs. And they woln t call Rosco. INDIANS ARE GROSS....
This is ugly but it s true

This is truly a case of you are what you eat. Curry is common in the diet of many Indians and Middle Eastern peoples (not just Muslims), and it is a very pungent spice. It permeates the body, and as you have observed, it is released in perspiration. It is also present on their breath, like garlic can be on anyone who uses it frequently. The aroma is also picked up on clothes during the aerosolization during cooking. Their homes have a curry smell, too. It's simply because of the strong odor of the spice, and their frequent use of it. The more "Americanized" a person becomes, the less they smell of curry as they eat a less ethnic diet. Also, some people from these cultures do not wear deodorant or bathe as frequently as Americans, so it may have a cumulative effect.

You're not very nice are you. But seeing as you asked...

I have a different question. What is the dreadful smell on the carrier bags you get from corner shops? Does it have a name? Can it be destroyed?

Also, why do corner shop owners insist on using the shop as an extension of their homes? having little Mingeeta's running around in nappies! Encouraging the stench from the family home to travel down the stairs and into the shop.

Could this explain the bad attitude of the staff in these shops?
Could it be they see us, the customer, as invading their living space? As they see the shop as an extension of their homes?

Help....

I believe Muzlims smell like curry but cannot actually smell it themselves. Apparently us westerners smell like baby milk fresh from the mothers breast. Its common knowledge as well that as a muzlim is making a bomb they eat lots of hot curry to relax themselves. Wage JIHAD! peace.

It is because they cook with it alot. If you as an American when overseas they would say you smell like beef. It is just a majority of what they eat.
