I have to complete a report for school for Global on a movie that has some historical fact in it, and I asked to do GoodFellas, and my teacher said "I can't let that happen".

The movies should be along the line of: Saving Private Ryan, Troy, Braveheart, something like that.

Eh, this might help a little bit. I have to analyze the movie as well, and check for historical accuracy. And I can't do:
Gladiator
Troy
Alexander
(I think there's a few more) since we've already watched them in class.

My favorite war movie is Memphis Bell. It's about a WWII Bomber plane and it's crew who flew over 2 dozen successful missions. It has Sean AStin and Harry Conick Jr in it...a really great cast which does an amazing job.

"The Bridge on the River Kwai", which won best picture in 1957. If you want a more current but similar one, the new Clint Eastwood flick "Letters From Iwo Jima". Both describe WWII from Japanese (and English) perspective.

The Man in the Iron Mask? It is based on a legend, but there really were kings in France at the time period, and it does show clothing, etc of the time period. We are Marshall is awsome as well, but I don't know if a plane crash would count for Global history.
