Yes, Italians can take jokes, I am British-Italian, and I have a pretty good sense of humour! (well...)
If you're talking about some football game, I'll just remind you that they're not real!
If you're talking about a real living Italian, however, YES WE CAN. Some of us however, who don't have English as our 'mother' language might not understand that you're joking, and may sometimes find offence in what you say. With my Dad for example, if you say something sarcastic, he doesn't sometimes get that you're sarcastic, which can create tricky situations!!!!
Anyway, Yes, Italians can take a joke, we're not a different species y'know!

Jokes are funny when there is some truth but your jokes are very stupid and unfounded, real Italians don't speak English this way (who do you think Giada de Laurents is? Do you think she speaks English in that disgusting way?), it's all an invention of ignorants who've never lived in Italy, plus Italy is a country composed of several cultures and you all ignore it, and make jokes with things I've never seen in my area of Italy, I see that most of you is very uneducated about Italians (hot tempers...ignorance talks), why should I have a laugh of a total invention that isn't even close to reality? Prima fatti una cultura, prima vivi con gli italiani e poi ne riparliamo. Uno scherzo è bello se ha un fondo di verità e le vostre barzellette sono le più idiote che siano mai state inventate.

Usually the only time they have bad tempers is when they deal with jackasses(answerer who said that they did isn't one).
