After I put in the software cd it searches for the printer and can't find it even though it is switched on, connected by an A - B usb cable and the computer has already recognised it. What can I do?

when u connect the printer does it say new hard ware found? or does is say ur hard ware is ready for use. if it says its ready for use that mean ur printer is intalled. let me know if u need more help
